The Pensions Advisory Service

If you are not satisfied with the reply from the Trustee to any complaint you raise, you can contact TPAS who will assist you with your complaint. TPAS is a free and confidential service and you should put your case in writing to them, together with correspondence from the scheme’s formal process.

TPAS has developed its role as a conciliation service between members and their pension schemes. It is available to assist members and beneficiaries of pension schemes in connection with difficulties which they have failed to resolve with the trustee or administrators of the scheme.

TPAS can be contacted at:

Pensions Ombudsman

For disputes that cannot be settled with the assistance of TPAS, a Pensions Ombudsman has been established with the powers of investigation similar to those of a county court.

The Pensions Ombudsman has the power to investigate and determine any complaint or dispute of fact or law concerning occupational and personal pension schemes. A complainant may appeal to the Pensions Ombudsman if they believe that they have been unfairly treated by the trustees or managers of an occupational or personal pension scheme.

The Pensions Ombudsman can be contacted at:
